About Sinfonian Barelytone...

Welcome to my continuing garden adventure here in the Seattle area (Zone 8b). At 37, I hope to improve the variety and quality of the food my family eats. My 5 and 2 year olds and I are excited to grow food for our family all year long and work to eat better. Along the way, I hope to learn all I can about vegetable gardening and pass along the knowledge to future generations. Enjoy your garden!

YIKES!  We hit a new all-time record here in the Seattle area.  Our previous record temperature was 100 hit as recently as 1994.  I personally recall playing tennis all day long in high school only to find out it hit 99, but that was when I was insane. I’m better now, hehe.
Well, today we shattered [...]

Wow, where has July gone?  Sorry I haven’t posted, but it’s been just plain too hot to garden much.  The later part of my vacation was spent on the garage, helping a friend move and playing at the pool with the kids.  Alas, nowhere in there did I mention gardening.  Well, that’s not quite true, [...]

Wow, how the weather can change here in Seattle. My father used to say if you don’t like the weather here, wait 15 minutes, it will change.  It hasn’t been that bad, but following a 90 degree Saturday, we’ve had two days of 60 degree overcast weather.  It even rained, though that was welcome news [...]
