About Sinfonian Barelytone...

Welcome to my continuing garden adventure here in the Seattle area (Zone 8b). At 37, I hope to improve the variety and quality of the food my family eats. My 5 and 2 year olds and I are excited to grow food for our family all year long and work to eat better. Along the way, I hope to learn all I can about vegetable gardening and pass along the knowledge to future generations. Enjoy your garden!

I also resolve to try to use open source or [...]

Carolynp, my garden buddy from GW asked my take on Monsanto.  I figured I’d go one further and explain what I’ve learned about the company and why I have the opinions of them that I do.  I don’t proclaim to be unbiased, so excuse my asides, but here is a lengthy post on everything from [...]

I didn’t post yesterday, instead I played with the kids, changed a flat tire and watched the boob tube.  Oh and I went out to water the garden and finally see what two weeks of sub-freezing temperatures and several inches of snow cover did to the poor plants.
I chose yesterday because it was the first [...]

Merry Christmas!
I knew we were going to technically have a white Christmas this year, as a day of 35 degree weather didn’t do anything to melt all the snow.  However, when we woke this fine morning to see HUGE snowflakes falling as fast as any thunder storm, it truely was a white Christmas.  Before it [...]
